ABOUT US

Fun. Focused. Force Free.

Kat's Dogs was formed in 2014 by owner and head trainer, Katie Bell.

Kat's Dogs believes in training that centres around creating an amazing bond between dogs and their humans. We use reward based, force free training methods for all aspects of training, from puppies to agility and general manners to severe reactivity.

We pride ourselves on not only using positive methods with dogs but with people, too. We are approachable, kind and don't take ourselves too seriously!

OUR TEAM

KATIE

Katie has been around dogs all her life; started training the family pet, Lily the Springer Spaniel, at 9 years old and began teaching other dog/human partnerships at just 15 years old. She holds a BSc (Hons) in Applied Animal Behaviour and Training.

She started Kat's Dogs in 2004 and has since helped 1000s of dog owners live better lives with their pets. Katie has competed at the top level (including internationally) of agility for nearly 20 years and her happy place is teaching others the beauty of the addictive sport. She is passionate about helping people harness their dogs' drive and energy in a positive and effective way.

Katie lives in Harrogate with her husband, four young girls and three dogs; Todd (14.5 year old Border Collie), Bridie (7 year old Border Collie) and Nova (18 month old Working Cocker Spaniel).

ALICE

Alice is the newest member of Kat’s Dogs, joining the team in Feb 2022.

She holds a BSc (Hons) in Animal Behaviour & L3 Diploma in Canine & Companion Animal Management. Alice aims to support clients using science-based methodology and the most modern, humane & *fun* methods!

Alice has over 10 years of experience in the animal industry, from boarding kennels; to veterinary environments and volunteering in the Costa Rican jungle as a research assistant. She hopes to bring that experience to classes and training sessions to help you build the best bond with your pups!

Alice is also a qualified science teacher, so when she’s not frolicking in fields with dogs, she spends the rest of the week in school. (Isn’t there a saying about not working with children AND animals… whoooops!)

Alice lives in Knaresborough with her 2 year old black field Labrador, Lyra.
